Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has called for peace and restraint in the ongoing Chwele–Kabuchai ward by-elections, following incidents of violence that disrupted a section of the campaigns Yesterday.
Addressing residents in Makhonge while rallying support for Ford Kenya candidate, Lusaka urged voters to uphold Bungoma’s long-standing reputation as a peaceful county.
“Elections will come and go, but Bungoma will remain. Let’s exercise our democratic right peacefully,” he said.
The governor appealed to residents to back the Ford Kenya candidate, arguing that strengthening the party’s presence would enhance its bargaining power for development in the region. He highlighted key ongoing projects, including the Chwele Modern Market and the urban modernization programme expected to transform the face of Chwele town.
Lusaka reiterated that development thrives in a peaceful environment and called on all political actors to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the election period.
