TSC Elgeyo Marakwet Celebrates Teacher Awardees in Heartfelt Ceremony
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Elgeyo Marakwet yesterday hosted a warm and memorable celebration in honour of teachers who were recently recognized during Teachers’ Day festivities. The event, held at the TSC Elgeyo Marakwet County Headquarters, brought together outstanding educators from across the county, among them award-winning teacher Shokwei Barsulei.
The ceremony was convened by TSC County Director, Madam Murei Loice, who invited the award recipients for a special appreciation gathering. The gesture, teachers said, deeply affirmed their work and reinforced the value the Commission places on excellence in education.
Barsulei, who was among the invited award-winning teachers, described the event as “a moment that touched the deepest part of the heart.” He noted that the Director’s recognition fostered a strong sense of belonging and renewed motivation among the honourees.
“From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home,” Barsulei said. “The warmth, the respect, and the genuine appreciation lifted our spirits. It reminded us that our efforts in shaping young minds are seen and valued.”
During the event, Madam Murei Loice commended the teachers for their dedication and achievements, emphasizing that the county’s success in education is anchored in the hard work of committed educators. She encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and reaffirmed TSC’s support for teachers across Elgeyo Marakwet.
The celebration also highlighted the county’s longstanding identity as “the home of champions.” Teachers remarked that the recognition not only honoured individual achievements but also strengthened their collective resolve to continue nurturing learners with dedication and integrity.
Barsulei expressed gratitude on behalf of the awardees, saying, “To the entire TSC Elgeyo Marakwet family, to our inspiring Director, and to my fellow award winners—thank you for embracing us and honouring our efforts. You have given us renewed strength to keep moving forward.”
As the ceremony concluded, teachers echoed a shared commitment to safeguarding the welfare and success of learners across the county.
“Pamoja tuwalinde watoto wetu,” Barsulei affirmed, capturing the spirit of unity and purpose that defined the day’s celebrations.
