Farouk Kibet, a close ally of President William Ruto, has urged Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to join the Kenya Kwanza administration, suggesting that the former Vice President could be offered a senior government position if he aligns himself with the current regime.
Speaking at a public event in Uasin Gishu County, Farouk praised Kalonzo for his political experience and urged him to "draw closer" to President Ruto.
"I urge Kalonzo to start thinking seriously about working with his brother William Ruto so that he can be given a position in government," said Farouk, hinting at possible high-level inclusion for Kalonzo in the administration.
Farouk also launched a scathing attack on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of promoting tribal politics and disrespecting members of Parliament.
"There are certain people you shouldn’t associate with, like that tribalist (Gachagua) who was rejected by MPs. He calls MPs fools, yet he is the biggest fool in the country," Farouk declared.
His remarks come amid growing political tensions within the Kenya Kwanza coalition, particularly between allies of President Ruto and Deputy President Gachagua. Recent reports have pointed to dissatisfaction among leaders from the Mt. Kenya region over perceived marginalization in government appointments and resource allocation.
Political analysts view Farouk's comments as part of a broader realignment strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections, where new political alliances could emerge.
Kalonzo Musyoka, who ran on the Azimio la Umoja ticket as Raila Odinga's running mate in the 2022 elections, has remained in the opposition but has recently signaled willingness to work with the government on key national issues.
Neither Kalonzo nor Gachagua had publicly responded to Farouk’s remarks by the time of publishing.
