Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has made sweeping changes to his County Executive Committee in a strategic move aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving the delivery of public services.
In a press statement released on Monday, Governor Bii announced a series of key appointments and reassignments within his executive team. The reorganization affects several critical dockets, reflecting the governor’s commitment to aligning leadership with the county's development priorities.
Among the new appointees is Janet Kurgat, who has been nominated to serve as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) in charge of Public Service Management, Administration, and Devolution. Her nomination is subject to vetting and approval by the County Assembly.
Robert Rotich Kemei has been nominated to head the docket for Youth Affairs, Sports, ICT, and Innovation, a portfolio central to the county’s youth empowerment and technology agenda.
In a notable reshuffle, Dr. Abraham Serem has been transferred from the Health Services docket to Roads, Transport, and Public Works. He replaces Eng. Joseph Lagat, who will now lead the Health Services department.
Additionally, Eng. Lucy Ng’endo Njoroge, who previously oversaw Youth Affairs, Sports, and ICT, has been reassigned to the Education, Vocational Training, Gender, Social, and Culture docket.
Governor Bii said the changes are intended to optimize service delivery by tapping into the strengths and expertise of individual leaders. “This reorganization reflects our focus on efficient governance and better service delivery to the people of Uasin Gishu,” he stated.
The changes take effect immediately, pending necessary approvals where applicable.
