Kĩũnyũ Dispensary undergoes a major upgrade to a Level 3 Health Center. The project, spearheaded by area MCA and Deputy Speaker of the Murang’a County Assembly, Hon Moses Mungai Gachui, reflects a steadfast commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for the residents of Kihumbu-ini and surrounding areas.
The ongoing construction has now entered a critical phase, with preparations for cabro placement already underway. This will not only enhance the overall accessibility and aesthetic appeal of the health facility but will also ensure a clean, durable, and user-friendly environment for patients and medical staff alike.
The decision to prioritize hygienic finishes underscores the leadership’s vision to deliver a healthcare institution that meets modern standards of cleanliness, safety, and dignity.
“This upgrade is more than just infrastructure it’s a bold statement that the health and dignity of our people matter,” said Hon Gachui. “We are determined to ensure that every citizen, regardless of their location or background, has access to reliable, affordable, and quality health services.”
Once upgraded to Level 3 Health Center it will offer an expanded range of services including outpatient care, maternal and child health services, laboratory diagnostics, pharmacy services, and more. It is expected to significantly decongest other health facilities within the sub-county and reduce the need for long travel to access basic medical care.
The project is part of Hon Gachui’s broader development agenda, which prioritizes health, education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
Residents have lauded the MCA’s hands-on approach and transparency, with many expressing optimism that the new facility will bring relief to the community, especially to mothers and children who often bear the brunt of under-resourced dispensaries.
As Murang’a County continues to invest in health infrastructure, the Kĩũnyũ project stands as a shining example of what visionary leadership and community-driven governance can achieve.
