The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party is mourning the untimely passing of Hon. Philip Ekuwam Lomuria, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Nanam Ward in Turkana County and the Deputy Speaker of the Turkana County Assembly.
In an official statement released by UDA Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar Hassan, the party expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late legislator, the Turkana County Assembly, and the residents of Nanam Ward.
“With profound sorrow, the UDA Party has learnt of the demise of Hon. Philip Ekuwam Lomuria,” the statement read. “Until his death, Hon. Lomuria, who also served as the Deputy Speaker of the Turkana County Assembly, was a staunch and dedicated member of the UDA Party, who exhibited zeal in undertaking his duties as a legislator.”
Hon. Lomuria was widely respected for his unwavering commitment to service delivery, leadership, and dedication to the people of Turkana County. His death is a major loss not only to his constituents but also to the county and the nation at large.
Sen. Hassan Omar assured the family and the Turkana community of the party’s support during this difficult period, saying the UDA family stands in solidarity with all those affected by the loss.
“As the family, the County Assembly and indeed the residents of Turkana County mourn the loss of their loved one and leader, the UDA Party sends its sincere condolences and stands in solidarity with them at this time of grief,” he added.
The party hailed Hon. Lomuria as a pillar of leadership in the region and a champion of the party’s grassroots development agenda.
“May the soul of our departed colleague rest in eternal peace,” the statement concluded.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family and the County Assembly in due course.
