Sixth Suspect Arrested in Connection to Violent Robberies in Nakuru

Police in Nakuru have arrested a sixth suspect linked to a string of violent robberies that have recently rocked the region. Elijah Kimani Kinyanjui was apprehended during a targeted operation in the Mzee wa Nyama area of Nakuru County.

According to authorities, items recovered from the suspect were positively identified as property recently stolen from a Pakawa resident during a robbery executed by armed gunmen. The arrest follows weeks of investigations and intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling the criminal network behind the spate of violent attacks.

Kinyanjui has been handed over to detectives from Nakuru East Sub-County and will be formally charged alongside five accomplices who are already facing prosecution in connection with the same robberies.

“This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in our efforts to bring all those involved in the recent wave of violence to justice,” said a senior officer familiar with the operation. “We are committed to ensuring that all perpetrators are held accountable and that peace and security are restored in our communities.”

Investigations into the broader criminal network are ongoing, with police urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

The recent spike in robberies had sparked concern among Nakuru residents, prompting intensified security operations and a visible increase in police patrols across affected areas.
