In a passionate statement issued Monday, Nyoro described the killing of Ojwang—a young Kenyan with a promising future—as a "heinous, berserk and diabolical" act that underscores a disturbing trend of rising violence and lawlessness in the country.
“Albert Ojwang was not just a name. He was a young man full of life, potential, and promise. His life has been cut short senselessly, and as a country, we cannot afford to normalise this kind of tragedy,” said the MP.
Nyoro lamented what he called the erosion of moral values and growing impunity that is threatening the security and future of Kenya’s youth. He said Ojwang’s death should serve as a wake-up call to both leaders and the public.
“Our young people are the heartbeat of this nation. If we allow their dreams to be extinguished by violence and impunity, then we are burying the future of Kenya,” he added.
He extended his condolences to the family of Albert Ojwang and joined in the growing calls for swift and transparent justice. According to Nyoro, those behind the killing—and any figures protecting them—must face the full weight of the law.
The lawmaker also urged national reflection and unity in demanding action from security agencies and the justice system.
“Let Albert’s death not be in vain. Let it mark a turning point in how we treat the safety, dignity, and value of every Kenyan life,” he said. “We are African, and Africa is our business. If we are to defend our continent, we must start by defending our people.”
Ojwang’s killing has sparked outrage and grief across social media, with many Kenyans demanding accountability and greater protection of young people. The incident comes amid growing concerns over youth vulnerability, police response, and the need for institutional reform.
Authorities are yet to make an official statement on the progress of investigations into the incident.
