Governor Natembeya Welcomes Hon. Majimbo Kalasinga to the Tawe Nation

Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has officially welcomed Kabuchai Member of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Simiyu Wekesa Majimbo Kalasinga, into the growing ranks of the “Tawe Nation,” declaring the movement a force for political transformation in Western Kenya.

Kalasinga, elected on a Ford Kenya ticket, becomes the latest prominent leader to align himself with the Tawe Movement, a bold grassroots-driven call for new leadership, accountability, and a clean break from entrenched political patronage.

In a statement released from Kitale, Governor Natembeya lauded Kalasinga's decision as a timely and courageous step that reflects the aspirations of the people.

“I warmly welcome Hon. Majimbo Kalasinga to the Tawe Nation. His entry marks a critical turning point—not just for Bungoma, but for the entire Western region. This is more than a slogan. It is a revolution in thought and action,” Natembeya said.

The “Tawe” slogan, meaning No! in Bukusu, has evolved into a rallying cry against bad governance, empty promises, and political manipulation. Since its emergence, the Tawe Movement has been gaining traction among voters seeking leaders who prioritize development, integrity, and people-centered leadership.

Natembeya, who has positioned himself as a reformist voice in the Rift Valley and Western blocs, emphasized that Tawe is about rejecting politics of division and fear, and instead embracing a new dawn grounded in truth and service.

“The people are tired of recycled rhetoric. They want jobs, water, roads, dignity—and they want leaders who are not afraid to speak truth to power. That’s what Tawe stands for,” he added.

Hon. Kalasinga, known for his outspoken style and close ties to the grassroots, is expected to play a key role in energizing the movement in Bungoma County and beyond, especially as the 2027 general election draws nearer.

The announcement has sparked renewed political conversation in the Western region, with speculation mounting about the formation of a formidable third force that could reshape Kenya’s political landscape.

As momentum builds, Governor Natembeya made it clear: the Tawe Movement is not just a response to past failures, but a vision for a better Kenya—where leadership is earned through service, not slogans.

“To all those who believe in a better future for this country, Tawe is your home. The journey has just begun.”
