As the world marked Father’s Day, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya issued a powerful and heartfelt tribute to all fathers and father figures, recognizing their invaluable contributions to families, communities, and the nation at large.
In a special message released from the Governor's office, Natembeya described fatherhood as a “sacred calling” that goes beyond biological ties, celebrating all men who have embraced the role of a father—whether by birth, by choice, or by heart.
“Fatherhood is not merely a biological connection; it is a profound responsibility,” Governor Natembeya said. “It requires unwavering strength, moral leadership, and daily sacrifice.”
The Governor emphasized that the true legacy of a father is not measured by material wealth or status, but by the values he instills, the character he molds, and the lives he positively influences. He praised fathers as “silent giants” who serve as providers, protectors, mentors, and role models within their homes and communities.
“Your sacrifices, though often unspoken and unseen, are the bedrock upon which strong families, stable communities, and great nations are built,” he stated.
Natembeya, known for his strong advocacy for social equity and community resilience, highlighted the critical role father figures play in shaping future generations and guiding society through changing times.
“To every man called ‘Dad’, continue to lead with courage, love with purpose, and nurture with wisdom,” he said. “May your example be a guiding light in an ever-changing world.”
He concluded his message with a prayerful blessing, asking for divine guidance and continued strength for all fathers across Kenya.
“May God bless all fathers, and may He continue to bless our beloved nation.”
The Governor’s message has been widely shared on county communication platforms and received positively by residents, who praised his consistent efforts to uphold the dignity of family and fatherhood in governance and community life.
