Bruno Fernandes Rejects Al Hilal Move, Commits to Manchester United

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal, choosing to remain at Old Trafford despite intense interest from abroad.

Sources close to the Portuguese midfielder confirmed that Al Hilal had tabled a significant financial package, with the deal reportedly valued between €80 million and €100 million. However, after holding discussions with his family, Fernandes informed the Saudi club that he would not be making the move.

The decision has been met with relief and celebration by Manchester United fans and club officials alike. The news also aligns with remarks made last week by United head coach Ruben Amorim, who expressed confidence that Fernandes would continue his career with the Red Devils.

Although Al Hilal’s interest was serious, it is understood that there were no direct negotiations or formal bids made between the clubs—effectively leaving no official offer for Manchester United to reject.

Al Hilal had hoped to secure Fernandes in time for this month's FIFA Club World Cup, aiming to bolster their squad with the experienced midfielder. It remains unclear whether the Saudi club will now shift focus to alternative targets.

Fernandes, who turned 30 earlier this year, has been a pivotal figure for Manchester United since his €47 million transfer from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020. He has since made 290 appearances and scored 98 goals, cementing his role as one of the club’s most influential players.

The midfielder is currently in Germany preparing for Portugal’s UEFA Nations League semi-final clash, scheduled for Wednesday. He is expected to face questions about the Al Hilal speculation during a pre-match press conference.

For now, however, Fernandes appears fully committed to Manchester United’s future, bringing an end—at least for the moment—to any speculation about a move to Saudi Arabia.
