Mwala Member of Parliament, Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau, popularly known as Kawaya, on Tuesday conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing Kasolongo Last Mile electricity project in Kithangaini Location, Masii Ward.
The visit comes as part of his continued commitment to ensure development projects in the constituency are delivered effectively and on schedule. Accompanied by local leaders and Kenya Power officials, Kawaya assessed the progress of the electrification works aimed at connecting more households to the national grid.
The Kasolongo Last Mile project is expected to benefit dozens of families, small businesses, and learning institutions in the area. Residents expressed optimism that the completion of the project will open up new economic opportunities, improve security, and enhance the quality of life.
“This is about ensuring every home has access to power—a basic necessity in today’s world. We are not only lighting homes, but we are powering dreams,” said Kawaya during the site visit.
Kawaya has been vocal about equitable development across Mwala Constituency, with special focus on infrastructure, education, and water access. Under his leadership, several areas that were once marginalized are now enjoying better services through strategic government initiatives.
The Kasolongo project, under the Last Mile Connectivity Programme, is among many that the MP is actively monitoring to ensure timely delivery and value for money.
Residents of Masii Ward thanked Kawaya for his hands-on leadership and pledged their support for continued development across the region.
With leaders like Kawaya keenly following up on local projects, Mwala Constituency continues to set the pace for rural electrification and grassroots transformation.
