Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Kipchumba Sudi has congratulated Escha Chimwada for her outstanding performance at the Timba-XO International Pool Carnival 2025, hailing her triumph as a symbol of Kenyan excellence on the global stage.
In a statement released on Monday, Sudi praised Chimwada’s resilience, skill, and composure throughout the high-stakes tournament, which culminated in a thrilling final match against Malawi’s top seed, Ginte.
“Congratulations, Escha Chimwada, on your spectacular victory at the Timba-XO International Pool Carnival 2025! Your determination throughout the tournament, culminating in your victory over Malawi's Ginte in the final, has brought immense pride not only to your country but also to the billiards fraternity worldwide. Well done, champ!” Sudi said.
Chimwada’s win has drawn praise from across the East African sporting community, with many calling it a landmark moment for cue sports in the region. Her performance throughout the tournament was marked by precision, strategy, and an unshakable focus — qualities that impressed fans and analysts alike.
MP Sudi also used the moment to urge greater investment in non-traditional sports, noting that talents like Chimwada often rise against odds due to lack of adequate support and facilities.
“This victory is a reminder that Kenya is full of world-class talent in diverse disciplines. It is time we nurtured and funded sports beyond the mainstream to give our youth more platforms to shine globally,” he added.
Chimwada’s success at the Timba-XO Carnival has not only etched her name in international billiards history but also inspired a new generation of players in Kenya and beyond.
Plans are reportedly underway to organize a homecoming celebration in her honor.
