Uasin Gishu Moves to Expand Healthcare Access as Dr. Lubanga Inspects New Dispensary Sites

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has intensified efforts to strengthen healthcare services across the county, with Acting Chief Officer for Preventive and Promotive Services, Dr. Billy Lubanga, leading an inspection of health facilities and proposed expansion projects aimed at bringing medical services closer to residents.

In a move that underscores the county's commitment to improving access to quality healthcare, Dr. Lubanga visited the proposed site for the construction of Rock Farm Dispensary. The assessment focused on evaluating the suitability of the site and the anticipated benefits the facility will bring to the surrounding community once operational.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Lubanga reaffirmed the county government's dedication to expanding healthcare infrastructure and ensuring residents have access to essential health services within their localities. He noted that investing in new facilities remains critical in advancing preventive and promotive healthcare across the county.

The Chief Officer later conducted a comprehensive inspection of EMC Kimumu Dispensary, where he reviewed service delivery, staffing levels, infrastructure conditions, and the availability of essential medical supplies. The exercise forms part of the county's ongoing supportive supervision programme designed to strengthen healthcare standards and improve patient outcomes.

During the inspection, Dr. Lubanga engaged healthcare workers and facility management teams, identifying key areas requiring improvement to enhance efficiency and service quality. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of care, prudent resource utilization, and continuous quality improvement to meet the healthcare needs of residents.

The visit also provided an opportunity to assess operational challenges facing the facility and explore practical interventions to improve healthcare delivery. Dr. Lubanga assured healthcare workers of the county government's support in addressing priority needs and creating an enabling environment for effective service provision.

The inspections highlight Uasin Gishu County's broader strategy of expanding healthcare infrastructure while strengthening existing facilities in pursuit of universal access to quality healthcare services.

Also present during the exercise was Laban Kiprop.
