 Award-winning educator Shokwei Barsulai has been officially recognized for his outstanding contribution to community service, child protection, and advocacy after receiving the prestigious Best Teacher Award in Community Service, Child Protection and Advocacy.

The award, which was announced during the Elimu Conference in Elgeyo Marakwet County, was formally presented during a ceremony held at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Office in Iten. The outgoing County Director, Madam CEC Loice Murei, handed over the certificate and medal to the celebrated teacher.

Speaking during the event, Barsulai expressed gratitude to the Elimu Conference leadership and the Teachers Service Commission, Elgeyo Marakwet County, for the recognition.



"I sincerely thank the Elimu Conference Leadership and the Teachers Service Commission for considering me worthy of this prestigious recognition. My heartfelt gratitude also goes to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in me throughout this journey," he said.

The teacher dedicated the award to colleagues, friends, mentors, learners, and community members whose support and encouragement contributed to his success.

"This achievement is not mine alone. It reflects the collective effort, support, and inspiration of the many people who have walked this journey with me. Thank you for continually motivating me to serve, protect, advocate for children, and strive for excellence in education," Barsulai noted.


He also paid tribute to Madam Loice Murei for her exemplary leadership, mentorship, and dedication to advancing education in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

"As you conclude your service as County Director, we celebrate the positive impact you have made in the lives of educators and learners across the county. Your commitment to excellence and support for education will remain an inspiration to many," he said.

Barsulai further commended Murei for being a role model to young women in leadership, noting that her guidance, service, and commitment to education will continue to inspire many.



The recognition highlights Barsulai's dedication to championing children's rights, community service, and educational excellence, values that have earned him admiration from colleagues, learners, and stakeholders across the county.

The award serves as a testament to the vital role educators play in shaping communities and advocating for the welfare and protection of children.
