Tragedy Strikes as River Moiben Claims Life of Kipchumba
Residents of Tuigoin village were left in mourning following the tragic drowning of a local resident, Kipchumba, in River Moiben on Saturday evening.
Area leaders, family members, and residents gathered in the village to comfort the bereaved family as grief engulfed the community after the unfortunate incident.
Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat visited the family and expressed his condolences, assuring them of support during the difficult period.
“We proceeded to Tuigoin to pass our condolences and stand in solidarity with the family of the late Kipchumba following his tragic drowning in River Moiben last evening,” the MP said.
He further prayed for strength and comfort for the grieving family and friends as they come to terms with the sudden loss of their loved one.
The drowning has shocked residents of the area, with many describing Kipchumba as a humble and hardworking member of the community. Leaders called on residents to exercise caution around rivers, especially during periods of heavy rainfall and strong currents.
Family members, friends, and neighbours continued to stream into the homestead to offer support and participate in mourning arrangements ahead of burial plans expected to be announced later.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
