Phyllis Bartoo has reiterated his commitment to transforming learning institutions across Moiben Constituency through continued investment in school infrastructure aimed at creating a conducive environment for learners.
Speaking during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Ngomongo Primary School, Prof. Bartoo said improving the physical environment in schools plays a major role in enhancing academic performance and nurturing the full potential of pupils.
The meeting brought together parents, teachers, pupils, members of the Board of Management (BOM), and other education stakeholders who gathered to discuss the progress of the school and development priorities geared towards improving the welfare of learners.
During the event, the MP highlighted the importance of the ongoing cabro installation project within the school compound, noting that the initiative is expected to address the muddy and slippery conditions that learners and teachers experience during rainy seasons.
He observed that poor ground conditions in schools often interfere with movement, class attendance, and overall learning activities, especially during heavy rains. According to the legislator, the installation of cabros will not only improve accessibility within the institution but will also provide a cleaner, safer, and more dignified learning environment for pupils and teachers.
Prof. Bartoo emphasized that quality education is not only about employing teachers and providing books, but also ensuring learners study in an environment that motivates them and supports their growth academically, socially, and emotionally.
“A conducive learning environment is key to unlocking the full potential of our children and improving performance in our schools,” said the MP.
He added that the government and leaders have a responsibility to ensure schools are equipped with the necessary infrastructure that supports effective teaching and learning.
The legislator further revealed that the Ngomongo Primary School project is part of a wider constituency development agenda focused on improving education facilities in schools across Moiben.
He said more institutions are set to benefit from similar cabro installation projects as part of efforts to modernize school compounds and improve sanitation and safety standards.
“As a leadership committed to transformation and development, we will continue rolling out cabro projects in schools across the constituency because investing in education infrastructure is investing in the future of our children and our community,” he stated.
Prof. Bartoo also commended parents, teachers, and the school’s Board of Management for working closely together to support the growth and development of the institution.
He noted that collaboration among stakeholders remains essential in achieving quality education and ensuring learners have access to a supportive environment where they can excel.
Parents and teachers who attended the AGM welcomed the project, saying it will greatly improve the condition of the school compound and create a more comfortable atmosphere for learners.
They expressed optimism that improved infrastructure would boost morale among pupils and contribute positively to academic performance.
Education stakeholders at the meeting also called for continued partnership between leaders, schools, and communities in addressing infrastructure challenges facing learning institutions in the region.
The event concluded with renewed calls for collective responsibility in supporting education, with leaders and residents agreeing that investing in schools remains one of the most effective ways of securing a better future for the younger generation.
