Award-Winning Teacher Shokwei Barsulai Humbled by Mother’s Day Recognition

Award-winning teacher Shokwei Barsulai has expressed heartfelt gratitude after receiving overwhelming recognition and nominations on Mother’s Day for her work in protecting and supporting children in society.

In an emotional message shared online, Barsulai revealed that she woke up to numerous mentions on the page of Gideon Kimaiyo, where members of the public had been asked to nominate mothers making exceptional contributions to society.

“Aaaah… Asanteni watu wangu. Asanteni kwa kuwa Ground yangu na Watoto Wetu. Nyinyi ni jeshi Wa Watoto Walindwe,” she wrote, thanking supporters for standing with her in advocating for the welfare and protection of children.

Barsulai described the nominations and mentions as the greatest Mother’s Day gift she could receive, saying she felt deeply humbled by the outpouring of appreciation from the public.

“They always say the world is watching, but I never imagined how big or how wide that world truly is. Today, I feel deeply humbled and encouraged,” she stated.

The celebrated educator further noted that the recognition reminded her that her efforts in mentoring and protecting children are being felt far beyond her immediate community.

“It is so beautiful, so humbling, and I am truly grateful. May God bless each one of you for me,” she added.

Barsulai, who is widely respected for her advocacy for children’s welfare and education, also reaffirmed her commitment to championing the rights and safety of children.

“Asanteni sana kwa kunisheherekea. Mimi ni Mama watoto wetu wote and I am so honored to carry this name with so much humility. Pamoja tuwalinde watoto wetu,” she concluded.
