Empowering Kabete Through Skills: Wanjohi Unveils Fully Sponsored Scholarship Programme

Incoming Kabete Member of Parliament Hon. James Wanjohi has launched a transformative skills empowerment initiative aimed at equipping young people with practical competencies and expanding economic opportunities across Kabete Constituency.

Under the programme, Wanjohi Technical Training Institute (WTTI) will offer fully sponsored scholarships in market-driven courses including Barista Training (Professional Coffee Making), DJ Skills (Sound & Entertainment Management), and Digital Marketing (Social Media & Online Business), targeting youth empowerment and poverty eradication through skills development.

The initiative, dubbed *Empowering Kabete Through Skills*, will see tuition fees fully covered by Hon. Wanjohi, with a minimal registration fee set at Ksh 1,000, while orphans and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be exempted from the registration cost in a show of inclusive and compassionate leadership.

In a public announcement addressed to clergy and churches, Hon. Wanjohi recognized the critical role of faith-based institutions in nurturing hope, spiritual guidance, and community support, noting that partnerships with the church will be instrumental in reaching deserving beneficiaries.

He emphasized that the scholarship programme is part of his broader vision to ensure that no talented youth in Kabete is left behind due to lack of school fees, while positioning technical skills as a pathway to self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.

Residents and stakeholders have been encouraged to share the opportunity widely within their congregations and communities, as the initiative seeks to build a more skilled, empowered, and economically resilient Kabete through accessible and practical vocational training.
