KNQA and KeNIA Hold Consultative Meeting to Advance Innovation in Public Service

 


The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) and the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) today held a consultative meeting aimed at strengthening the integration of innovation within public sector operations.

The meeting was led by Dr. Alice Kande, Chief Executive Officer of KNQA, and Dr. Tonny K. Omwansa, Chief Executive Officer of KeNIA. Discussions centered on mainstreaming innovation within KNQA’s institutional framework, with a particular focus on the Public Service Innovation Maturity Framework (PSIMF) and the development of an Institutional Innovation Master Plan.

Key areas of engagement included strengthening innovation governance structures, enhancing institutional capacity, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement to improve public service delivery. The dialogue underscored the importance of structured innovation systems in enabling public institutions to respond effectively to emerging challenges and evolving citizen needs.

Both institutions emphasized the role of collaboration in accelerating innovation-led transformation across the public sector. The engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment by KNQA and KeNIA to work together in advancing strategic initiatives that promote innovation, efficiency, and excellence in public service.

The consultative meeting marks a significant step toward aligning institutional innovation efforts with national development priorities and fostering a more agile, responsive, and forward-looking public sector in Kenya.
