Leaders Receive Body of Late Bishop Joseph Likavo at Eldoret Airport



The body of the late Bishop Joseph Likavo, who died while undergoing treatment, was on Tuesday received at Eldoret International Airport by Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and Senator Jackson Mandago.

Governor Bii and Senator Mandago led congregants of IVC Eldoret, family members, clergy and the faithful in prayers as they stood together in solidarity to honour the late bishop. The leaders described Bishop Likavo as a humble servant of God who was deeply rooted in faith and committed to serving humanity.

Speaking during the reception, the two leaders said Bishop Likavo would be remembered for his steadfast faith, compassionate leadership and dedication to unity within the church and the wider community. They noted that his ministry touched many lives across Uasin Gishu County and beyond.


 

“I joined congregants of IVC Eldoret, the bishop’s family, clergy and the faithful as we stood together in prayer and solidarity, honouring a shepherd who faithfully served and guided the people of our county of champions and beyond,” Governor Bii said.

The clergy and church members present paid glowing tributes to the late bishop, recalling his role in promoting peace, reconciliation and moral values. They described him as a unifying leader whose teachings emphasized love, service and faithfulness.

The reception marked the beginning of burial arrangements as the church and the community continue to mourn and celebrate the life and legacy of Bishop Joseph Likavo.
