Huruma Ward Aspirant Secures Secondary School Admission for Bright Girl from Sungura Area

Huruma Ward has today recorded a significant milestone in the promotion of education after a bright and determined girl student, Harmonisa Sirunda, successfully secured admission to Kandie Secondary School, where she will undertake her Grade 10 studies for a period of three years.

Harmonisa, who comes from Sungura Area in Huruma Ward, is widely described as an intelligent, disciplined, and hardworking learner who has consistently shown great academic promise. Despite coming from a humble background, she has remained focused on her studies, demonstrating resilience and commitment that set her apart among her peers.

Confirming the development, Huruma Ward Aspirant DCP Harun Mwega Maina said the admission was part of his broader commitment to uplifting the community through education, particularly by supporting vulnerable but deserving students.

“Today, I am proud to confirm that we have secured admission for Harmonisa Sirunda at Kandie Secondary School. She is a very bright student, and it would be unfair for such potential to go to waste due to financial or social challenges. Education remains the strongest tool for transforming lives and building a better future for our ward,” said DCP Maina.

He emphasized that girls’ education must be prioritized, noting that educating a girl has a multiplier effect on families, communities, and future generations. According to the aspirant, empowering young girls through education not only reduces poverty but also strengthens leadership, health, and social stability within society.

DCP Maina further reiterated that his leadership vision for Huruma Ward is anchored on equal opportunities, where every child—regardless of background—has a fair chance to access quality education and realize their dreams.

“As leaders and as a community, we must stand together to identify, support, and nurture talent. Harmonisa’s journey should inspire other learners to remain hopeful and focused, even in the face of challenges,” he added.

As Harmonisa prepares to begin her Grade 10 academic journey, she has been encouraged to remain disciplined, prayerful, and committed to excellence. The community has rallied behind her with goodwill, prayers, and encouragement as she takes this important step toward shaping her future.

In his closing remarks, DCP Harun Mwega Maina quoted Proverbs 22:9, saying: “The generous will themselves be blessed.” He noted that acts of generosity and service to others are not only biblical values but also a foundation for strong, united, and progressive communities.

The admission of Harmonisa Sirunda stands as a testament to what can be achieved when leadership, compassion, and community support come together to change lives and secure a brighter future for Huruma Ward. 🙏
