The six-day search for Simon Isiaho Shange, principal of Munyuki Secondary School in Lugari, ended in heartbreak early Saturday morning when his body was discovered in the Kipkaren River.
Local residents made the grim discovery and immediately alerted authorities. The news sent shockwaves through the community, with colleagues and students mourning the loss of a respected educator and mentor. Benson Muyanda, a fellow teacher, described Shange’s death as a devastating blow to the education fraternity.
“We are deeply shocked. Mr. Shange was a dedicated leader and a guiding light to both teachers and students. His loss is immense,” Muyanda said.
