Uasin Gishu KUPPET Witnesses Opening of KNEC Container in Turbo
The Uasin Gishu branch of the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) on Monday took part in the official opening of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) examination container at the Turbo Deputy County Commissioner’s Office.
The exercise, which marks the start of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, was overseen by education officials, security officers, and representatives from various stakeholders in the education sector.
Speaking during the event, Uasin Gishu KUPPET Executive Secretary Elijah Maiyo commended the government for ensuring transparency and security in the handling of examination materials. He also encouraged teachers and students to uphold integrity throughout the examination period.
“We wish all candidates success as they begin their KCSE examinations. We urge them to remain calm, focused, and confident as they demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have acquired,” said Mr. Maiyo.
Mr. Maiyo further reiterated KUPPET’s commitment to supporting teachers and learners during the examination period to ensure the smooth running of the national exercise.
The opening of the KNEC container was conducted under tight security, as officials verified and dispatched examination papers to various centres within the Turbo Sub-county ahead of the day’s papers.
This year’s KCSE examinations are being administered across the country under heightened vigilance to ensure credibility and fairness.
