Top Hill Hospital Backs Uasin Gishu Rugby Team Ahead of Inter-County Sports & Games

Top Hill Hospital has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and community empowerment by supporting the Uasin Gishu County Rugby Team, which will compete in the upcoming Inter-County Sports & Games scheduled to take place in Siaya County next week.

The donation handover ceremony was attended by CECM for Sports, ICT & Youth Affairs Hon. Robert Kemei, County officers, and Ms. Benta Okello, the County Public Relations Officer. Representing Top Hill Hospital was Joseph Bor, the hospital’s Head of Marketing, while  Tophill CEO Dr. F. Koech spearheaded the initiative from within the hospital.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Kemei praised Top Hill Hospital for its unwavering commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), highlighting the hospital’s role in supporting community initiatives and youth empowerment programs.

“Top Hill Hospital has consistently demonstrated leadership in giving back to the community. Supporting youth through sports is one of the most impactful ways to build future leaders, and we commend them for standing out,” Hon. Kemei said.

The donation will help cover key expenses for the rugby team, including training, travel, equipment, and accommodation, ensuring that the athletes can participate fully and focus on representing Uasin Gishu County in the week-long tournament.

Top Hill Hospital, known for its focus on health and community development, emphasized that sports play a critical role in nurturing talent, building discipline, and promoting teamwork among young people. Dr. F. Koech, who led the hospital’s initiative, noted that supporting youth activities aligns with the hospital’s mission to empower communities and create opportunities for growth beyond healthcare.

“Investing in our youth is an investment in the future of the county. We are proud to support the Uasin Gishu Rugby Team and encourage all young people to pursue their dreams, whether in sports, academics, or professional careers,” Dr. Koech said.

The Inter-County Sports & Games will bring together athletes from across the country to compete in multiple disciplines, promoting healthy competition, camaraderie, and talent discovery. Top Hill Hospital’s support reflects a broader trend among private institutions actively participating in community upliftment programs, particularly those targeting young people and grassroots initiatives.

The hospital expressed optimism that such initiatives would inspire other private and public sector organizations to actively support youth development, sports, and community well-being.

The Uasin Gishu Rugby Team is set to depart for Siaya County next week, carrying the hopes and support of their county, local leaders, and community stakeholders.
