Kabete’s Moment for Renewal Is Now
By James Wanjohi
Incoming Member of Parliament, Kabete Constituency
Kabete stands at a turning point.
Ours is a constituency rich in potential, driven by a hardworking and ambitious population. But potential alone is not enough. It must be matched with bold, responsive and forward-looking leadership.
The realities facing Kabete today are different from those of the past. Rapid urban growth, youth unemployment, pressure on infrastructure, and rising demand for quality education and healthcare require fresh thinking and decisive action. Leadership must anticipate challenges, not merely react to them.
Innovation must define our next chapter. Governance today demands technology-driven service delivery, smarter urban planning, and practical solutions that create jobs and expand opportunity. Our youth — energetic, educated and determined — deserve leadership that prioritizes enterprise, skills development and meaningful employment pathways.
Accountability must also be non-negotiable. Residents want transparency. They want to be heard. They want development that reflects their priorities. A culture of openness and public participation strengthens trust and ensures every shilling works for the people.
Infrastructure remains critical. Reliable roads, clean water, accessible healthcare and balanced development across all wards are not luxuries — they are the foundation of dignity and economic growth. No part of Kabete should feel left behind.
Leadership renewal is healthy for democracy. It injects energy, encourages competition of ideas and reinforces a simple truth: leadership is service, not entitlement.
This moment is not about dismissing the past. It is about preparing for the future. Kabete’s aspirations are growing — and so must our ambition.
With renewed focus, inclusive engagement and clear vision, Kabete can move forward stronger, more competitive and ready to seize the opportunities ahead.
The time for renewal is now.
