MP Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich Welcomes President’s Commitment to Rironi–Naivasha–Mau Summit Road Project

Marakwet West legislator Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich has lauded the President’s latest national address, saying it provides a strong blueprint for the country’s progress and ushers in “a new dawn” for Kenyans.

Toroitich said one of the most transformative announcements in the address was the government’s reassurance that the long-awaited dualling of the 170km Rironi–Naivasha–Mau Summit highway will proceed as scheduled, with construction set to begin on 28th November 2025.

According to the lawmaker, the project is poised to significantly improve mobility along one of the country’s busiest transport corridors, unlock new economic opportunities, and ease the heavy congestion experienced by motorists and traders.

“This road will be a game-changer,” Toroitich said. “Its completion will not only facilitate faster movement of goods and people but will also boost trade, attract investment, and greatly reduce traffic delays that have long burdened Kenyans.”

He added that the President’s address reflected a clear commitment to national development and to delivering projects that directly impact citizens’ daily lives.

“Our nation is rising, and to God be the glory,” he said, expressing confidence that the initiatives outlined by the President will accelerate growth across all sectors.

The Rironi–Naivasha–Mau Summit highway upgrade is among the country’s largest ongoing infrastructure programs and is expected to enhance connectivity between key economic zones once completed.
