Governor Natembeya Launches Kimase ECDE Twin Classrooms, Boosts Early Learning in Chepchoina Ward
Governor George Natembeya today presided over the official launch of the new Kimase ECDE twin classrooms, marking a major boost to early childhood education infrastructure in the region. The new learning facility is expected to significantly expand access to quality education for young learners and ease congestion in existing ECDE centers.
During the ceremony, Governor Natembeya emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening foundational learning as a key pillar of the county’s long-term development agenda. He said the investment in modern ECDE infrastructure reflects the county’s recognition that the earliest years of education are the most critical in shaping a child’s academic journey.
“These classrooms symbolize our dedication to giving every child—no matter where they are born—an equal opportunity to learn and thrive,” the governor said. “We believe in nurturing our young learners with dignity, quality facilities, and supportive learning environments.”
Despite the ongoing holiday season, dozens of children, joined by their parents and guardians, turned up to witness the unveiling of the new classrooms. Their enthusiasm, Governor Natembeya noted, demonstrates the community’s deep appreciation for education and their desire to see their children succeed.
In addition to commissioning the classrooms, the governor distributed milk and assorted learning materials to the children. The gesture aligns with the county’s broader program to support ECDE learners by improving nutrition and ensuring that young pupils have the basic tools they need for an effective learning experience.
Parents and community leaders applauded the county government for prioritizing early childhood development, noting that the new facility will help reduce overcrowding, provide safer learning spaces, and motivate more parents to enroll their children in school.
County officials reiterated that similar projects are underway across Trans Nzoia as part of a sustained effort to uplift education standards and support young learners across both rural and urban areas.
With the launch of the Kimase ECDE twin classrooms, Chepchoina Ward becomes the latest beneficiary of the county’s continued investment in early learning—a move expected to lay firm educational foundations and strengthen overall literacy levels in the years ahead.
