Eldoret National Polytechnic Participates in Finnish Institution Partners’ Seminar on TVET Collaboration
Eldoret National Polytechnic, represented by Vincent Sabulei, Coordinator for ODeL & ICT Integration, participated in the final seminar for Finnish institution partners, held at the Jacaranda Hotel, Nairobi, from November 6th to 7th. The seminar provided a platform for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to showcase collaborative initiatives with Finnish partners.
Sabulei attended the seminar on behalf of the Polytechnic’s Chief Principal, Dr. Charles Koech, highlighting Eldoret National Polytechnic’s commitment to enhancing technical education through international partnerships and modern technology integration.
The two-day seminar brought together various TVET institutions across Kenya that have engaged with Finnish institutions on thematic areas including Youth Employment Collaboration, integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in content development, and strategies for sustaining partnerships beyond the lifecycle of individual projects.
During the event, participants shared insights on leveraging technology and innovation to improve vocational training, increase employability among youth, and foster long-term institutional collaboration. Experts emphasized the importance of AI and digital learning tools in modernizing TVET curricula and ensuring that graduates are equipped with relevant skills for the evolving job market.
“Our engagement with Finnish partners has opened doors for collaborative projects that enhance our capacity in content development and the use of AI. This seminar provided an excellent opportunity to learn from best practices and to explore ways to sustain partnerships beyond project timelines,” Sabulei said.
The seminar also featured interactive workshops, networking sessions, and panel discussions, offering TVET institutions a platform to exchange ideas, experiences, and strategies for impactful collaboration. Participants noted that such initiatives are crucial in preparing youth for employment, bridging the skills gap, and promoting innovation within Kenya’s technical education sector.
Eldoret National Polytechnic’s participation underscores its ongoing commitment to international collaboration, technology adoption, and capacity building in the TVET sector. The institution aims to leverage insights from the seminar to enhance its programs, improve graduate employability, and contribute to Kenya’s broader goals of industrialization and innovation.
