President Ruto Confers Senior Counsel Rank on 54 Advocates, Including Nancy Karigithu

President William Ruto has conferred the prestigious rank of Senior Counsel on 54 advocates of the High Court of Kenya, following recommendations by the Committee on Senior Counsel.

Among the distinguished recipients is Ambassador Nancy Karigithu, Kenya’s Special Envoy and Advisor on Maritime and Blue Economy at the Office of the President. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Maritime Law*from the IMO-International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI), Malta, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi.

The award recognizes her exceptional contributions to the legal profession, as well as her outstanding public service and leadership in advancing Kenya’s maritime and blue economy agenda.

This honor marks a significant milestone in Ambassador Karigithu’s illustrious career and further underscores her role as a leading legal and policy figure in the country.
