By John Kariuki
Rarieda Member of Parliament Hon Dr Otiende Amollo, SC, paid a courtesy call to Madiany Law Courts as part of the celebrations marking the International Day for Judicial Welfare.
The legislator was warmly received by the Resident Magistrate Hon Joy Ayieta and her dedicated team of staff. The visit highlighted the critical role of the judiciary in upholding justice while ensuring the welfare of judicial officers and support staff across the country.
Dr Amollo praised the exemplary performance of Madiany Law Courts, which holds a unique place in Kenya’s legal history as the first court constructed under the CDF-Judiciary partnership model. The initiative has since been replicated in other regions, enhancing access to justice by bringing courts closer to the people.
Speaking during the visit, Dr Amollo underscored the importance of partnerships between Parliament, Constituency Development Funds, and the Judiciary in fostering infrastructure growth. He noted that improving working conditions and access to modern facilities directly impacts service delivery and strengthens public confidence in the justice system.
The International Day for Judicial Welfare serves as a reminder of the need to prioritize the well-being of judicial officers, who bear the responsibility of dispensing justice under challenging circumstances. Dr Amollo reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that advance judicial independence, efficiency, and the dignity of those who serve in the sector.
The event ended with commendations to Madiany Law Courts for its outstanding service and contribution to the pursuit of justice in Rarieda and beyond, demonstrating how collaboration between local leadership and the judiciary can drive meaningful progress.
