Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu on Saturday expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to engage in high-level dialogue on Kenyan talent and diaspora contributions during a luncheon hosted in honour of visiting Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar.
The event, held at State House Nairobi, was hosted by President William Samoei Ruto as part of the Slovenian Head of State’s official visit to Kenya. The luncheon brought together senior government officials and key stakeholders to discuss bilateral cooperation, economic growth, and innovation through people-to-people ties.
“I was honoured to share a few moments with President Ruto and Her Excellency President Musar, discussing the critical role of Kenyan talent abroad and the importance of diaspora engagement,” said PS Njogu.
Her remarks underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the Kenyan diaspora, which remains a vital source of remittances, innovation, and global influence. Njogu emphasized that enhanced diaspora engagement is key to unlocking new opportunities in trade, education, and cultural exchange.
The Slovenian President’s visit—centred on advancing multilateral partnerships, regional peacebuilding, and digital transformation—marks a significant milestone in diplomatic relations between Kenya and Slovenia.
The PS also used the occasion to reaffirm Kenya’s commitment to expanding global platforms for its diaspora and leveraging international collaborations to support national development.
