For most of my life, I struggled with being overlooked. In meetings, my opinions were ignored. In relationships, I was often treated as a backup plan. Even among friends, I was the one they called only when their better options weren’t available.
People spoke over me, dismissed me, and rarely respected my boundaries. I began to believe that maybe something was wrong with me. I tried everything to boost my confidence. Self-help books, therapy, leadership classes you name it. But no matter how much I worked on myself, the world just wouldn’t see me differently.
