Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has issued a stern warning to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, stating that the government will not hesitate to take legal action against him if he is found to have broken the law.
Speaking during a Church service Murkomen did not mince his words: “We will put you in jail, and there is nothing you can do about it,” he declared, underscoring that the law applies to all—regardless of their past or present positions of power.
The tough-talking CS emphasized the government's renewed resolve to uphold the rule of law and crack down on impunity at all levels. “This country belongs to all Kenyans, not a select few. There will be no sacred cows. If you are guilty, the law will take its course,” Murkomen said.
Though he did not delve into specifics, the statement comes amid mounting political tension and speculation over investigations reportedly targeting several high-profile individuals, including Gachagua.
