Brains, Talent, Discipline: The Ringa Boys Revolution in Full Swing

Nestled in the heart of Homa Bay County, Our Lady of Mercy Ringa Boys High School is rewriting the script of what success looks like in modern education. With a blend of academic excellence, thriving co-curricular programs, and strong discipline, the school has become a model of transformation — and its 2024 KCSE results are proof.

The school recorded an impressive mean score of 7.6239, with 394 of 569 candidates qualifying for university. But Ringa Boys’ success story runs deeper than the exam papers. It’s a tale of leadership, teamwork, sacrifice, and a commitment to nurturing every student’s potential — in and out of the classroom.

At the helm of this transformation is Senior Principal Thomas Otieno, whose visionary leadership has reshaped the school's culture. Since taking office, Mr. Otieno has emphasized student engagement, academic focus, and a disciplined environment where every learner can thrive.

His approach is hands-on and heart-led. Whether he’s guiding a morning assembly or checking in during evening studies, Mr. Otieno is ever-present, earning admiration from students and staff alike.

“Discipline is not about fear here. It’s about responsibility,” says a senior teacher. “That mindset has changed everything.”

One of Ringa Boys’ standout achievements is its ability to balance academics with vibrant co-curricular life. The school has recently made headlines not only for exam performance but co curriculum activities.
