Maaajabu! Woman Who Faked Pregnancy for 7 Months Collapses After Neighbours Surprise Her with Baby Shower

 

A dramatic scene unfolded in Amalemba Estate on Sunday, July 27, 2025, after a 29-year-old woman who had been faking pregnancy for months collapsed in shock when her neighbours surprised her with a full baby shower.

The woman, identified only as Achieng, had for seven months paraded a rounded belly beneath her dresses, convincing neighbours and even church members that she was expecting a child with her long-distance husband who works in Qatar.

Neighbours say Achieng had become the centre of attention in the area, walking slowly and attending antenatal clinics with borrowed hospital cards. She even posted occasional ultrasound scans on her WhatsApp status — photos later found to be downloaded from the internet.

“She was always touching her stomach and declining heavy chores. We genuinely believed she was pregnant,” said Milka, a friend who helped plan the surprise event.

Wanting to bless the “mother-to-be,” neighbours teamed up with her church group to host a surprise baby shower at her home. They decorated the compound with balloons, carried gifts and even brought a cake shaped like a feeding bottle.

When Achieng walked into the celebration and everyone shouted “Surprise!”, witnesses say her knees buckled and she fell to the ground trembling.

“We thought she had gone into labour. People started calling boda bodas and asking for hot water and towels,” said Rose, the hostess of the event.to read more click here
