Turbo Member of Parliament Hon. Janet Sitienei Rotich, CBS, has officially received the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) medal and certificate, following her conferment with the prestigious national honour by President William Samoei Ruto.

The presentation ceremony marked a significant moment for the Turbo legislator, who was formally handed the medal and certificate during an event presided over by National Assembly Speaker Hon. Moses Wetang’ula.

The CBS is among Kenya’s national honours awarded to individuals in recognition of distinguished service to the country and contribution to national development.

Sitienei’s recognition places her among public servants and other Kenyans who have been honoured by the Head of State for their service to the nation.

The Turbo MP has been serving as the elected representative of Turbo Constituency, where she has continued to undertake her parliamentary responsibilities while representing the interests of her constituents in the National Assembly.

The presentation of the medal and certificate provided an opportunity to formally recognise the honour conferred on her by President Ruto.

Speaker Wetang’ula presided over the ceremony, underscoring the significance attached to the national awards and the role of Parliament in recognising the service of its members.

The CBS medal and certificate are symbols of national recognition, with recipients honoured for distinguished contribution to Kenya in various fields.

For Sitienei, the presentation comes as a proud moment for her, her family, supporters and residents of Turbo Constituency, who witnessed their elected representative receive one of the country's prestigious state honours.

The honour also adds to Sitienei’s public service record as a Member of Parliament representing Turbo, one of the constituencies in Uasin Gishu County.

The ceremony brought together leaders and other stakeholders as the country continued to recognise individuals who have made notable contributions to public service and national development.

With the formal presentation now completed, Sitienei joins the growing list of Kenyan leaders and citizens who have been recognised through the country’s national honours system.

Her recognition is expected to further highlight the role of public servants in contributing to the country’s development and strengthening national institutions through their service.
