Oscar Sudi Steps In After Viral Video of Two Sisters with Cerebral Palsy Touches Kenyans
Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Kipchumba Sudi has pledged support for two sisters from Nandi County after a heartbreaking viral video showing them crawling due to cerebral palsy sparked widespread public concern.
The video, shared by TikTok content creator and comedian Obidan Dela, featured 19-year-old Sharon Jeruto and her 14-year-old sister Gladys Jerubet from Tabolwa, Nandi County. According to Sudi, the emotional footage moved him to action.
"When I saw the viral video of Sharon Jeruto and Gladys Jerubet crawling, I was deeply touched," Sudi said. "I decided to look for Obidan Dela, the TikToker behind the video."
The legislator revealed that he later hosted Obidan Dela at his office, where the content creator presented him with an invitation to support the two girls and their family.
Sudi announced that he has committed to standing with Sharon and Gladys by helping improve their quality of life. Beyond the sisters, he also pledged assistance to another family living with disability and promised support for two children's homes.
The MP further confirmed that he will attend the Kenyans for Kenyans Eldoret Edition charity event scheduled for 19 July at Eldoret Central Primary School in Uasin Gishu County, where additional fundraising and support initiatives are expected to take place.
The sisters' story has resonated with thousands of Kenyans on social media, with many calling for greater support and inclusion for people living with disabilities. The upcoming event is expected to bring together leaders, well-wishers, and members of the public to mobilize resources for vulnerable families.
Sudi's pledge has added momentum to the growing campaign, with many hoping it will inspire more individuals and organizations to lend a helping hand to those in need.
