Murkomen Hails 1,013 Administrators as State Steps Up Security Reforms
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has congratulated 530 newly appointed Deputy County Commissioners and 483 Assistant County Commissioners after completing key training programmes aimed at strengthening Kenya’s national administration and security system.
The 530 Deputy County Commissioners completed an induction programme, while the 483 Assistant County Commissioners graduated with Diplomas in Public Administration from the Kenya School of Government.
Murkomen said the training marks another step in the implementation of the Jukwaa la Usalama Report and the government’s wider agenda to modernise the country’s security and administrative structures.
“Warm congratulations to the 530 newly appointed DCCs on your successful completion of the induction programme, and to the 483 ACCs on your graduation with a Diploma in Public Administration from the Kenya School of Government,” Murkomen said.
He said the reforms are intended to make the National Government Administration more responsive to the changing needs of Kenyans and improve service delivery across the country.
The Interior CS added that the government has trained 5,892 chiefs and assistant chiefs in paralegal and security management as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots administration.
Other reforms, he said, include the introduction of a structured career progression framework for National Government Administrative Officers, provision of stipends to village elders, establishment of the National Government Administration Police Unit, and decentralisation of the issuance of uniforms for administrative officers to counties.
Murkomen said the reforms are aligned with President William Ruto’s agenda of strengthening public administration, improving security coordination and ensuring government services reach citizens more efficiently.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to building a National Government Administration that will serve every Kenyan with integrity and excellence,” he said.
