Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto Mourns Sister Killed in Tragic Nairobi Road Accident

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto is mourning the loss of his sister, Ann Chebochok, who died following a tragic road accident along Nairobi's Southern Bypass.

In a statement released by the family, Ruto said Ann Chebochok lost her life just a few minutes before 6:00 a.m. after the fatal crash. He described her death as a devastating blow to the family.

According to the family, a postmortem examination conducted at Lee Funeral Home established that Chebochok died from severe internal organ injuries sustained during the accident.

"At the time of the accident, our sister was in the company of her daughter, who sustained minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital shortly after receiving medical attention," Ruto said.

While the family is grieving the sudden loss, they expressed gratitude that Chebochok's daughter escaped with minor injuries and is recovering after receiving treatment.

Ruto said the tragedy has left the family heartbroken as they struggle to come to terms with the unexpected death of their loved one.

"As a family, we are deeply hit by this tragic loss," he said.

The former governor noted that funeral preparations are underway, adding that details regarding the final send-off will be communicated once the family completes the necessary arrangements.

He also thanked friends, relatives, leaders, and members of the public for the messages of condolence, prayers, and support extended to the family during the difficult period.

"We sincerely appreciate the overwhelming love, prayers and the support we have received so far during this difficult time and we kindly ask that you continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we come to terms with this tragic loss," the statement read.

Ann Chebochok's death has drawn condolences from leaders and Kenyans who have joined the Ruto family in mourning her passing.

The family concluded its message with a heartfelt tribute, praying that she rests in eternal peace as they prepare to lay her to rest.
