Central Primary Grounds in Eldoret Town came alive on Saturday as thousands of residents, political leaders, artists, and youth converged for a colourful support and empowerment event in honour of popular digital content creator Felix Kipchirchir, popularly known as Eng Kipchirchir Mosonik.

The event, which attracted a large crowd from Uasin Gishu and neighbouring counties, highlighted the growing recognition of young creatives who are using digital platforms to inspire communities, create employment, and build successful careers.

Among the leaders who attended were Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim, President William Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet, Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe, local leaders, business people, and several renowned Kalenjin musicians, who entertained the crowd while encouraging young people to pursue their talents.

The empowerment programme was marked by speeches focusing on youth empowerment, talent development, innovation, and the need for leaders to invest in young people who are making a positive impact in society through creativity and hard work.

Speaking after the successful event, Mosonik expressed heartfelt appreciation to everyone who attended and contributed towards making the day memorable.

He thanked the political leaders, artists, sponsors, friends, supporters, and residents who turned up in large numbers, saying their overwhelming support had encouraged him to continue using his talent to inspire others.

"I sincerely thank everyone who stood with me today. Your support means a lot to me, and it motivates me to work even harder. I am grateful to every leader, every artist, every supporter, and every resident who made this empowerment programme a success," he said.

Governor Bii: Young People Hold the Key to Kenya's Future

Addressing the gathering, Governor Jonathan Bii reaffirmed his administration's commitment to creating opportunities for young people by supporting talent, innovation, entrepreneurship, sports, and creative industries.

He said young people possess enormous potential that should be nurtured rather than ignored.

"Our young people are endowed with immense talent, creativity, and determination. As leaders, we have a responsibility to nurture their potential and create opportunities for them," Governor Bii said.

The governor noted that many young people are succeeding through digital content creation, music, sports, business, and technology, and called on leaders to continue investing in programmes that help them realize their dreams.

"We will continue to stand with our youth, empowering them to rise, pursue their dreams, and contribute to the transformation of our society," he added.

Governor Bii urged young people to remain disciplined, work hard, and make productive use of technology to improve their lives and support their families.

Farouk Kibet: Talent Can Change Lives

President William Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet described the event as a demonstration of the importance of supporting young people who are using their talents to earn a living in today's digital economy.

He said Kenya's creative industry has become one of the country's fastest-growing sectors and deserves greater investment from both government and private stakeholders.

"Supporting talent is essential in today's digital world. Today, together with other like-minded leaders, we stood with Felix Kipchirchir alias Eng Kipchirchir Mosonik by empowering him to continue pursuing his passion," Farouk said.

He praised Mosonik for remaining focused and determined despite the challenges many young creatives face.

"Mosonik is a talented young man who is working hard to build a better future through his creativity and determination. We are proud to support his journey and encourage him to keep pushing forward," he added.

Farouk challenged young Kenyans to believe in themselves and remain committed to their dreams.

Leaders Call for Greater Investment in Youth

Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe and other leaders who attended the event praised the initiative, saying empowering young people is one of the most effective ways of reducing unemployment, crime, and poverty.

They encouraged the youth to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, digital skills, and education while avoiding drug abuse, crime, and other social vices that derail their future.

The leaders observed that content creation has become a significant source of income for many Kenyan youth and urged society to recognize it as a legitimate career that can positively impact families and communities.

Entertainment and Celebration

The event also featured lively performances by renowned Kalenjin musicians, whose performances kept the crowd entertained throughout the day.

Residents cheered as artists performed popular songs while speakers emphasized unity, hard work, and the importance of supporting local talent.

The colourful gathering brought together people from different backgrounds in a celebration of youth empowerment and creativity, with many attendees describing it as one of the biggest community empowerment events held in Eldoret in recent months.
