𝐇𝐎𝐍. 𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐍 𝐇𝐀𝐉𝐈 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐃𝐎𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒
The Chairperson of the National Assembly Committee on Cohesion and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Adan Yussuf Haji, has been recognised by an international university for his outstanding peace initiatives.
Hon. Haji, alongside other distinguished leaders, was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Peace and Security Management by Crown University of Delaware, USA during a colourful ceremony held in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Mandera West MP expressed his gratitude and humility following the recognition, describing the award as an honour that reflects the collective efforts of many stakeholders.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank Crown University for this recognition and all stakeholders, including my colleagues in Parliament, with whom we have worked to promote peace, harmony and cohesion in troubled regions across the continent," he said.
Hon. Haji noted that the recognition has inspired him to redouble his efforts in advancing peacebuilding and conflict resolution programmes aimed at fostering lasting stability and unity.
Members of the Committee led by Hon. Fredrick Ikana congratulated Hon. Haji for the achievement noting that he deserved for his exemplary role in ensuring the continent is conflict-free.
"Congratulations Hon. Chairman. We are proud of you, and this achievement" said Hon Ikana.
