Over 500 Elderly Women Receive Food Aid as Wendy Njeri Gitau Extends Support to Mathare's Vulnerable
More than 500 elderly women from different parts of Mathare benefited from a food distribution exercise organized by Mathare parliamentary aspirant Wendy Njeri Gitau at the Kiamaiko Slaughter area.
Speaking during the event, Wendy Njeri Gitau said the initiative was aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the community, particularly senior citizens who continue to face the burden of the rising cost of living.
She emphasized the importance of social solidarity and called on leaders and stakeholders to work together in addressing the challenges affecting residents of Mathare. She also reaffirmed her commitment to championing community-centered programs that improve the welfare and livelihoods of local residents.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support, noting that the food donation had come at a critical time and would help ease the pressure of meeting daily household needs.
