Nandi Residents Set to Benefit as MTRH, Aravind Eye Hospital Announce Free Mega Medical Camp

Hundreds of residents in Nandi County are expected to benefit from a free medical camp organized by Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in partnership with Aravind Eye Hospital at Lessos Health Centre on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

The one-day outreach program aims to improve access to essential healthcare services, with a special focus on eye care and cataract treatment. Residents will receive a range of free services, including general medical check-ups, eye examinations, cataract screening, and free reading glasses for eligible patients.

According to the organizers, patients diagnosed with cataracts and found suitable for surgery will be scheduled for free surgical procedures on Friday following the screening exercise.

Health officials say the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to bring specialized healthcare closer to communities and reduce preventable blindness through early diagnosis and treatment.

“We encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to receive professional medical assessment and eye care services at no cost,” the organizers said.

The camp is expected to attract patients from Lessos and neighboring areas seeking medical consultations and vision-related services.
