Mosiria Defends Philanthropy, Praises Apostle Dan Wema’s Charity Work Amid Social Media Criticism

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geofrey Omatoke Mosiria, has come out in support of Apostle Dan Wema, urging critics on social media to appreciate rather than condemn individuals engaged in philanthropic and humanitarian work.

Mosiria noted that public service and charity work often attract mixed reactions, including criticism, misunderstanding, and suspicion, even when the intention is to help vulnerable members of society.

He challenged critics to step forward and participate in rescue and support efforts for people living in difficult conditions instead of disparaging those already involved in humanitarian work.

“I have seen many people criticizing Apostle Dan Wema on social media over his philanthropic work. I am not here to defend him, but I want to challenge you to go out there and try rescuing someone who is suffering,” Mosiria said.

He added that humanitarian work is often misunderstood, with some individuals questioning motives or expecting helpers to operate in specific ways, regardless of the circumstances on the ground.

“This work is not easy. Some people can turn against you even after you have sacrificed so much to help them. Others may think you are idle or accuse you of acting for personal gain,” he said.

However, Mosiria noted that he has not come across any credible accusations alleging that Apostle Dan Wema has personally enriched himself from the vulnerable individuals he supports.

According to him, the cleric has instead demonstrated a consistent commitment to assisting vulnerable communities, including orphaned children and struggling families.

“I once asked him what happens to extra funds collected beyond medical needs. His response was that he uses it to pay school fees for more than 50 vulnerable orphaned children. If that is the case, then I believe he is doing a commendable job and making a positive impact in many lives,” Mosiria stated.

He further recounted an instance where Apostle Dan Wema supported families previously rescued from the streets by donating food supplies, describing it as a clear demonstration of compassion and selflessness.

Mosiria also praised the cleric’s involvement in assisting a man suffering from a severe medical condition, saying the intervention reflected genuine humanitarian concern rather than publicity-seeking motives.

“What he did for the man who was suffering from a serious medical condition is truly commendable. It was an act of compassion, and only God can fully reward him for it,” he said.

The Nairobi County official urged the public to support rather than criticize individuals involved in charitable work, emphasizing that such efforts often come with emotional, financial, and logistical challenges.

“Let us not criticize those who are doing good. Instead, let us support and encourage them as they continue making a difference in people’s lives,” he added.

The remarks come amid heated debate on social media over the role of private individuals and religious leaders in humanitarian assistance, with some users questioning transparency while others defend the impact of such interventions.

Mosiria concluded by encouraging continued support for philanthropic initiatives, saying they play a critical role in complementing government efforts in addressing vulnerability and poverty.

“Apostle Dan Wema, continue with the work of God,” he said.
