Roysambu MP aspirant Backs Affordable Housing Drive
Incoming Roysambu MP Dr Faith Mwaura has welcomed the government’s Affordable Housing Programme, citing its impact on livelihoods and the real estate sector.
Dr Mwaura, a real estate enthusiast, said the initiative signals strong State support for housing development and economic growth.
The programme targets the construction of 250,000 housing units across 215 sites nationwide, including about 100,000 in Nairobi, offering thousands of families access to decent and affordable homes.
President William Ruto recently inspected the 4,600-unit Soweto Housing Project, with plans underway for an additional 15,000 units in Kibra.
Dr Mwaura said the projects are not only addressing the housing deficit but also uplifting communities and restoring dignity.
“We are transforming lives by ensuring more Kenyans access decent housing,” she said.
