Mboikamiti shareholders have convened a crucial meeting to deliberate on the roadmap for conducting fresh leadership elections within 90 days, in compliance with a recent court ruling.
The meeting, attended by hundreds of shareholders, focused on establishing a clear, transparent, and inclusive electoral process aimed at restoring proper governance within the organization.
This follows a judgment that nullified the previous leadership structure and directed that new elections be held within the stipulated timeframe.
Speaking during the meeting, several members emphasized the need for fairness, unity, and adherence to the rule of law. They proposed the formation of an independent electoral committee to oversee the process and ensure credibility.
“We want a free and fair election that reflects the will of all shareholders. This is an opportunity to correct past mistakes and move forward together,” said one of the members.
Key issues discussed included voter registration, verification of shareholder records, setting election dates, and identifying neutral officials to manage the exercise. Members also called for enhanced security and transparency throughout the process.
Legal advisors present at the meeting urged shareholders to strictly follow the court’s directives to avoid further disputes or delays.
The planned elections are expected to bring an end to prolonged leadership wrangles that have affected the operations of Mboikamiti. Shareholders expressed optimism that the process will usher in a new era of accountability and development.
Further meetings are expected in the coming weeks to finalize the electoral framework and timelines.
