Kenya’s Veterinary Profession Roars Back: Benson Kibore Celebrates Regional Recognition
Benson Kibore has highlighted the remarkable resurgence of Kenya’s veterinary profession, noting that the sector—once overlooked—is now regaining prestige, influence, and professional pride.
According to Kibore, Kenya is setting the pace in reshaping veterinary practice across the continent. “The once-ignored veterinary profession is roaring back. Kenya is leading in redefining veterinary practice in Africa. We dreamt of making it noble, respected, and rewarding—and we are steadily marching towards those goals,” he said.
Kibore’s remarks followed an award from the Uganda Veterinary Council, which recognised Kenya’s outstanding progress in professional compliance and enforcement. The recognition was specifically linked to the robust regulatory work spearheaded by the Kenya Veterinary Board to restore order, professionalism, and high standards in veterinary practice.
He credited the success to strong institutional leadership, expressing gratitude to his CEO and team for the support that has made the achievements possible. The award, he said, is a testament to the collective efforts of regulators, practitioners, and stakeholders working to elevate veterinary services and protect public and animal health.
Kibore emphasised that the renewed momentum is not only restoring dignity to the profession but also positioning Kenya as a regional benchmark in veterinary governance and best practice. He expressed optimism that the ongoing reforms will continue to attract investment, talent, and public trust in the profession.
In closing, he expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed commitment to strengthening standards, ethics, and service delivery across the veterinary sector.
