Community Praises Development Record of Hon. Patrick Kimeli Kimaiyo in Mois Bridge

Residents of Mois Bridge have voiced strong support for Patrick Kimeli Kimaiyo, citing his inclusive leadership style and a wide range of community development initiatives undertaken during his tenure.

Operating under the slogan “Usawa kwa wote” (equality for all), Kimaiyo is credited with fostering a sense of inclusion across different groups in the area. Community members report that his programs have touched many lives, from youth and women to persons living with disabilities.

In the sports sector, more than 26 teams have reportedly received support, helping nurture local talent and keep young people engaged. Youth empowerment has also been a major focus, with at least 257 individuals assisted in acquiring driving licences—an initiative aimed at improving employability.

Widows in the community have benefited from soft loans, incubators, and irrigation equipment, enabling them to start or expand income-generating activities. Similarly, youth groups, women’s groups, and self-help organizations have received financial and material support to strengthen their economic positions.

Education and skills development have also featured prominently. At Kwenet Vocational Training Centre, enrollment is expected to surpass 500 students, reflecting increased access to technical education. In addition, around 1,000 young women have undergone training and are expected to benefit from upcoming support under the Inua Biashara program.

Infrastructure improvements have not been left behind. Residents point to upgraded roads, installation of street lighting, construction of culverts, and implementation of public works programs such as Kazi Mtaani, which have provided both temporary and permanent employment opportunities.

Support has also extended to churches and individual entrepreneurs, with some residents reporting direct financial assistance, including mobile money transfers, to help sustain or grow their businesses.

Bursary programs have further enabled students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access education, with plans underway to continue disbursements in the near future.

While challenges remain across Mois Bridge, many residents believe Kimaiyo has made significant efforts within available resources to address community needs. Supporters argue that his leadership has introduced new opportunities and exposed residents to tools and initiatives—such as welding machines and posho mills—that have enhanced livelihoods.

As the community looks ahead, many are calling for continuity in leadership, expressing hope that ongoing projects and empowerment programs will be sustained and expanded.
