 Kenya is mourning the death of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Johanna Ngeno, who passed away on Friday, February 28, 2026, following a helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County.

Ngeno had served as the MP for Emurua Dikirr Constituency since 2013. During his time in Parliament, he was the Chairperson of the National Assembly Committee on Housing, Urban Planning and Public Works, where he played a key role in legislative oversight and development initiatives within the housing and infrastructure sectors.

A trained lawyer, Ngeno was admitted to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2025 after completing his postgraduate diploma at the Kenya School of Law. He previously earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from Mount Kenya University (2011–2013), a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Nairobi (2010–2012), and a Bachelor of Arts in International Law from Kyiv TSN University in Ukraine (2003–2006).

Born in 1972 in Narok County, Ngeno began his education at Mogondo Primary School before attending Maseno National School. He married in 2018.

Leaders across the political divide have expressed shock and sorrow at his sudden death, describing him as a dedicated public servant committed to development and the rule of law. Further details regarding funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
